Exercise for spasticity
In this cold weather I try my heating pad but don’t do it too long and yes try to walk on it to just stench it out. Yes I should listen to my self I know it is easier just to stay seated.
Good luck!
My physical therapist gave me exercises to keep stiffness at bay. Of course, I actually would have to do them for them to help! Could you get a referral for some PT with someone who is familiar with MS? Then the exercises would be geared toward your specific needs.
@Rjcoon
You can go to facebook and look a group called MS gym and the guy has exercises for it
The guy name is Trevor Wicken. Hope this helps
I just started with spasticity last fall and find that a heating pad and lots of stretching exercises have helped me the most. All of my spasticity symptoms ease off the longer I am up and moving around. When I stop moving is when the spasms start.
Great answers so far.
MSAA also has a dedicated section on our website about MS and Spasticity, that includes treatment info:

We also have a "Spasticity Checklist for People with MS" PDF that you can download and print to fill out and share with your healthcare team:

Hope this helps!

Ask your doctor about sending you for physical therapy. That's the only thing that I have found that really helps. Now I do workouts every week in the warm saltwater therapy pool.
