Hi, I will be having major foot surgery on Wednesday and am concerned about a relapse. I will be using a knee scooter and I am also concerned about getting around. How can i calm myself down and deal with all of this?

Surgery with MS
I had foot surgery twice last summer and things went great. Just follow the doctors orders, take your meds on time, ice 20 minuets every two hours for day, and keep it elevated with limited use. Hate those funky boots, but those scooters are great. Keeps the weight off👍 Good luck and prayers are with you 😉🐶🐩🐾🙏🙏 Ken
Wizardsmom , I'd say you should give yourself time and more time to get over it if you seem to be worse afterwards. Foot surgery might not be so bad but you just never know. When I was 46 I had to have a tumor of the parotid gland removed (it was benign), and they took the entire parotid gland. There was quite a long incision, going all the way around my ear and down my neck on most of the right side. I was in the hospital only 3 days but I'd say that it was some months before the MS wobbliness and shakiness calmed down. Also, I ran into a breathing problem or so they told me afterwards and had to be on a ventilator. I had requested a session with the anesthetist beforehand and had told him about my MS. It turned out that they were glad I'd informed them of that. You might want to do that too. Anesthetics seem to affect us a bit differently sometimes.
