I get hiccups on/off ALL the time!! If I get them once, then I am almost GUARANTEED to have them again more than once throughout the day. Not sure if it is related to MS or not...never really thought about though lol Nausea not really.

I looked it up and it said it's related to spinal lesion and a symptom in NMO desease.

I take an antacid as part of my daily drug regimen. Before this I use to get nauseous. My doctor recommended this but you have to be mindful of drugs that may be diminished. For example: you have to take neurontin 2 hrs. after taking antacid. I use WebMd to get a quick look at my drug particulars. Hope this helps. ...FiddleStyx

Gemmasully it might be the Percocet. Upsetting you. I have come to realize that the start of allergic reactions for me. Ugh!

Starting to have that problem with my tramadol.😕 So now I need to research something different that I'm not allergic to.😄

Good luck!😀

I hear you, Jes. I am so sensitive to meds that it usually takes me 2 or 3 tries before I can find one that I can safely take. My problem is not so much allergies, just that they don't work and/or have unbearable side effects. Whatever you do, don't let your health care provider stick you on Diclofinac for pain---your stomach will pay for it, guaranteed. It gave me such horrible gastritis I had 3 upper endoscopies in as many months and now can't take NSAIDS. My brother, who is a Pharm.D., told me that it was one of the worst pain meds in the world because of its horrible impact on the GI tract. And so did my gastroenterologist. Good luck. Sukie427

Have had intractable hiccups/burping for about 6+ yrs and some residue remaining. Long road to get DX of gastroparesis and SIBO. Of course it was diagnosed psycosomatic until the right test came back 'markedly slow" Stomach didnt empty and remaining foods being fermented. Interesting both thyroid and MS can contribute to slowdown of digestive tract

Worked a FOD MAP diet and variations to finally get under control, but not "cured", popped up again recently.

Lots of possible causes for hiccups. Didnt detail constipstion , bloating etc that accompanied it. I had so much fiber in diet, felt like a tree. It actually exacerbated it.

Hope you can track it down, could have a multitude of sources.Be persistant until you get an answer that makes sense

My best for your search

I would suggest that if the hiccups don't stop go to you PCP.

I say this because my best friend died because of them. They pull on your heart muscle.

My husband has gotten hiccups on and off ever since he had his stroke, but I don't get it with my MS. Nausea, however, is something I grapple with a lot, especially when I get that ambiguous all-over MS pain and/or a migraine. Sometimes when I wake up lightheaded I get nauseous as well. I always make sure to keep a supply of Zofran in the house to treat the nausea. Sukie427
