Good morning! Husbands insurance company changing again. They are going to United Health Care. I'm on Ocrevus infusions. Does anyone have any experience or input with UHC approving Ocrevus? So frustrating!
Thanks!

I am doing an appeal with MHC now and my neurologist is also. It makes you made, I have been on MS meds for 23 years and still have to deal with this ๐คฌ๐คฌ All they have to do is read the information ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ They think they are doctors to, which is BS. Why do doctors have degrees ๐คท๐ผโโ๏ธ๐คฌ I guess we just have to be patient and pray ALOT ๐๐๐Ken
I donโt remember the contact number for Ocrevus but maybe your doctor has it and call them and let them know what is going on with your insurance so that everything can be covered.
My insurance got switched to UNC 4 months ago no problems with my AMPYRA. GOOD LUCK to you!
I have United Healthcare, and am actually having my first Ocrevus infusion this morning.
Thanks everyone. I'm hoping for an easy transition.
Hi Lori,
I have Medicare and UHC supplement. I havenโt had any trouble. Iโve had 3 Ocrevus infusions. Wishing you good luck. Linda
I have to ask you how are you feeling after your third treatment with the Ocrevus ?
I do think Iโm feeling a bit better. Fatigue, a weak right leg and drop foot are my biggest issues. I do think my walking is better. They are guessing that I have secondary MS. I am 70 years old. I will have my 4th infusion in April. I did feel pretty punk for the first week of each infusion but no worse when I had the full dose. LOVE being off the injections.
Best of luck to you, Linda
Thank you! You too.๐๐
I was switched fro Blue Cross PPO last April first to UHC PPO. My neurologist was going to do my first infusion in April but had to wait for insurance approval. UHC gave the approval and I had the first infusion June 1.
I can only tell you that when I was still practicing law I had a UHC healthcare policy that paid for Tecfidera right when it came out, with a $50/month co-pay. It also covered my Acthar for MS relapses with the same co-pay. It was not a good day when my policy got canceled because of the ACA and none of the ACA policies covered either drug. I have been fighting for funding help ever since I went on Medicare, as the MS finally forced me to retire. What your policy covers should be clearly spelled out in plain English (not Legalise) in the plan document, which is NOT the same as the Summary Plan Description. The employers who provide these plans usually just give you the SPD--try to write to the insurer to get the actual Plan Document (the actual policy) as well. They should be consistent. Sukie427
I was able to take out an AARP supplement to Medicare. I choses UHC for healthcare, Humana for prescriptions, VSP vision. I had a dental plan, stopped it after 1 year when I realized it had a $1000. a year cap which I was paying $600. for, I'm just putting more money away for that and earning interest on it. The health policy includes the "Silver Sneakers" program, which gives us access to a wide variety of gyms, both locally and around our area. If traveling, check their website and even more gyms accept Silver Sneakers! No Charge for that benefit.
