My Challenge

Many years ago, after my diagnosis, I ignored my MS. Thinking, by not giving it attention, I was in charge. I enjoyed years of remission until, it made itself known. Realizing my MS is in charge of my body, it does not have complete control. For reasons unknown, God has presented me with a challenge and I accept it.

mrshaney , that’s a wonderful photo! And your attitude is marvelous, too. None of us has our “druthers” in terms of having MS, but our reactions to it are our own. I hope we can hang on to the joy we have in our faith, rather than focus on circumstances. Thanks for the reminder!

What adventures did you have with that bike?

My biggest adventure was going to Bike week in Myrtle Beach, SC from Ohio 7 years ago. I got overheated and had to stop at a rest area. I had trouble walking and my husband escorted me to a bench to sit on. He then filled a bucket (from a worker) with water and dumped it on me. I'm sure anyone seeing this thought he was crazy. I was able to walk after that. Then back on our ride, i realized my phone was in my pocket. I really didn't need my phone on vacation anyway lol. More adventures to follow.

When does the book come out?

That is exactly where I am right now. I work in sales and love a good challenge but come on. I am actually in the motorcycle industry. I love it and am terrified to give that part of my life up. Trying to learn to talk with God is a huge challenge. I am not angry at him I just do not know how to. Opening a bible is like looking at something written in a foreign language.

@Sometimescrazy

Hi 👋🏼! In response to your post, may I humbly recommend opening it anywhere and begin reading it until something moves you? When you find that, take a piece of that passage, and jot it down on paper and reflect on it during the day. It is the inspired Word of God. You can get to know Him by doing this simple act each day. Meditate on it. From there, you will be able to pray to God because you will have begun a relationship with Him.

That is one way! 🕊

@nomNom_De_Plume You are exactly. Get in to God's word enough you will find encouragement. I don't understand why he allowed MS in to my life but I accept the fact that it's here and I can't change it. It brings the serenity prayer to mind. God give me the serenity to accept things can't change. I just thank I him for what I can do. Things happen for a reason even if we don't understand them. Love everyday like it's our last day. Take enjoyment in every we do.

God bless and keep you all.

Be aware of fatigue. When it begins to trickle in, STOP!
