Finally some good news
melack01 oh, that is good news, celebrate, go for a ride on your trike, hug the cats, shout it out, so happy. It does us all good to hear good news, blessings Jimeka π¦ π π€ π« π
melack01, Good for you! If I remember correctly, you should receive back pay too.
SueAB I will probably get back pay. I certainly can use it. I'm just glad it's over. The first time they took 3 months to say no. This time they took 1 1/2 months to say yes. It makes you feel like your life is on hold.
melack01 Good for you. That's record time. It took 6 months for SSDI to deny me twice. Now they say it will be 2 years before they assign me a date before a judge to appeal.
So sorry. I think they do that on purpose, hoping people will die so that they don't have to pay.
The people who make the decisions act like it's their money. My sister was approved right away for early onset Alzheimers. Of course they can't say that you might get better long enough to work. She has to wait until November for her first payment.
Glad to hear it. When I found out, it didn't take long for mine to start.
Iβm happy for you melack01!!! I hate that they make us wait! Iβm glad your wait is over!
πππππ I'm so happy you were approved finally!!β£οΈ
Thanks everybody!
Hooray!! ππ
Congratulations. I know it's an awesome. Got mine in 2008. Took 6 years and 2 court appearances

Congrats. I'm still fighting for SSD since a year after I lost my job do to MS in 2007. Age and education makes all the difference in the world. Thats what every denial said. And both are not considered discrimination. Being 40 having a college degree can be a death sentence. 9 almost 10 years now.
Iβm in the same boat! My appeal lawyer told me if I were 21 and had βdepressionβ I wouldβve been approved first try. But being 40 and college educated makes me somehow less sick.
Hope you get it someday. Hope I get it someday. I live in Seattle are very conservative judges. My Lawyers to me the judges I'd been assigned to that there are multiple college educated men and women who have been dying from cancer and denied because of education. They mentioned one guy fighting for 8 yrs died and finally got approved three months after he was dead. Lawyers kept telling me to move out of the area because overall approval rate here is 17percent vs 67percent in the Spokane are. But I shouldn't have to move, or divorce or anything to get benefits that I worked for.
So happy for you. My hearing is In Dec. It's been a long ti.e coming. So hope it goes through.
My Neurologist told me that when I was ready to go for something like PTSD or mental. That she sees that working quicker. So sad. I guess when the recession hit a lot of people jumped into the disability pool that really shouldn't be there. Goo thoughts to everyone for the weekend. XXOO.
Melack01: Good for you!! With all the talk about insurance going on, sure glad disability is available for people in need. God's Peace
@melack01 I thought it would take me a long time but all went well.I am 58,I got it just over 1 year ago.I faxed the several page questionnaire the end of December just before Christmas and I was approved the end of February. I got my back pay the first of March and my first check the middle of March. I was shocked. I really expected it to take longer. I have no college but had worked as a payroll clerk for 11 years. I got laid off when the company moved to Vegas and that was the same time I started having real problems. I hadn't worked for 2 years before I was finally diagnosed. Then I finally started the process. So in reality it took a while but once things got to rolling it went fast. I am glad it went through for you. Now you should get your first check and back pay pretty quick.
starlight5 oh Lois I am so sorry, that's horrible. I hope that they are still going to pay up as any thing will help with the funeral expenses. My thoughts are with you and your family at this sad time, blessings Jimeka π¦ π π€
Congrats melack01 ! Its such a relief isn't it?! I felt like I was holding my breath while I waited for my approval.
My sister has been waiting for 10 years now and still does not have an approval. She has been denied 4 times now, once in front of a judge who said she was too young and fat and a female so she didn't need to go on disability. Now mind you, all the doctors, including the social security doctors said she could not work and would continue to get worse and should go on disability. She is now waiting for her 2nd court date. She has another 2 years to wait. She lives in Washington state and their current wait time for a court date is 4 years. She was 38 when she first filed for disability. It is nuts.
I got my news in June of 2016 received my first check on July 26, 2016ππ Best feeling in the world !!!
Congrats on being approved melack01 !
starlight5 I'm so very sorry your brother's passing shortly after being approved and receiving his back pay.
Jessie
I'm not sure when my disability will start. It's either this month or next. I'm not too worried since it looks like I received about a year of back pay. It felt real good to repay my mother-in-law for the money she lent us for rent. We will go tomorrow to cancel the food stamps. I bought a new pair of shoes and a bra. Small things but we couldn't afford them. We are both so relieved.
@melack01
So happy for you that you got this good news! π You must be so relieved. Congratulations. It must feel somewhat validating too? Crazy that it is such a difficult process.
