I would ask your doctor because you just don't want someone off the street.

You can contact your local hospital and they have usually an updated book of organizations.Best of luck....

Do you need a nurse or health care aid? $ will def. differ. Home health agencies (HHA) will supply both. Their staff will be vetted/bonded but HHAs are usually more $ than independent helpers.

Your local MS MSSA NMSS Orgs. Might be able to suggest someone reliable

Sggmcswain, it's Fancy1959. Both erash's and Jackie are wonderful ideas! I would also check with my local primary care doctor to see if they know or can recommend any agencies that can help you. If you still don't have any place to start after all these ideas call the National MS Society. They will assign you a case worker who will help you locate the resources you need in your area. You can reach them at 1 800 Fight MS. Please take care and keep your chin up and let us know how everything for arrest. Until we speak again remember together we are stronger. Fancy

Hi, Sggmcswain . I would also try calling your health insurance co and checking not only preferred providers but coverage for what you need done.

Have you applied for ALTSA. Aging and long term support. You can apply through Medicaid. State Dshs altsa and dda. Your county then manages your case evaluates how many hours of in home care you need and if you need a caregiver and or registered nurse. If your income is low then it is free or on sliding scale. There are caregiver agencies and independent care providers. They help with transportation to medical apts. Shopping, Hygiene, bathing, cooking, cleaning, phone use, medication reminders, all kinds of stuff based on your needs

Sggmcswain When my dad was on home hospice, the hospice place was able to supply us with a list of independent caregivers that worked for themselves. They were half the cost.
