Nausea

Does anyone have trouble with nausea, not as a side effect because currently not on DMT or any new meds. Started last Wednesday with horrific upchucking, and now general nausea won't go away. No more throwing up, just smelling foods brings it on, or eating anything. I wake up feeling fine in stomach area, but gradually gets worse. Taking nausea med from PhArmacist, using essential oil combo on stomach, eating crackers, all the old fashion remedies and earring very mild foods, drinking coconut water(someone suggested) but nothing is helping. Anyone have this problem and NOT side effect if med???

Jesmcd2 i just stopped Prilosec! We go in circles, all of us trying new things the docs decide. I haven't had acid reflux since I went on MS diet, so I stopped taking it. Did research and Prilosec can cause nausea. It also blocks the effectiveness of my Valium. So just another med I stopped by my own research. Hope it helps you!

After stopping a ppi like Prilosec u can get increased (rebound ) acid production. So if u stopped the ppi recently, perhaps you need something to quell that increased a is...like a Pepcid or Zantac?

It's recommended that people wean off ppi' slowly because of this.

My pain management prescribed promethazine for nausea caused by meds. Best thing I've found. Good luck my friend.

jackiesj ir fever my daughter asks. No to all if the above I have Kuwaiti blood pressure, the kind that makes me fuzzy if I get up quickly. I am eating a lot of digestive enzymes tums anc probiotics. Not gone to doctor yet. My 2 main doctors are on my black lush right now. Made appt with new primary care but can't get in until10/25. Such a joke!! And my current pc doc has ignored my orher problems fir so long, I am done with him and his NPs. He says I gave too many comorbidities to deal with in one visit, also he ys the old who took away my anti depressant cause of what he considered low sodium. Yet sodium scripts can be given if dangerously low, and he did not choose that route. And my neurologist us prescribeing a med that us not recommend for 70 yr olds?? I just don't trust any of them after being unhealthy all my life and at 70 they decide to get serious?? Please keep praying fir my body, mind, and spirit!!

Low sodium can cause nausea. Is ur sodium still low?

agapepilgrimβ€’ in reply toerash

No, I drank so much electrolyte water, coconut water wayermelonnwith lots of salt (ate that, along with sweet potatoes and salmon,) sodium went up to 350. Highest IRS ever been. You have awesome memory to remember that. Doc took me off Celexa cause of it, so I just stayed off Celexa. (No withdrawal symptoms). My daughter had me promise to call primary care today, but since I refuse to go to current one, it will probably be awhile before I can get in. Not starting Tecfidera with chronic nausea that's for sure! And neurologist never did check fir active JC virus or WBC or liver levels. Guess I'm supposed to be proactive and ask for that/ but it will only be thru new PC doc. Hubby had to she trip today, so I will probably just bury my head and deal with that tomorrow! Still angry that I have to request that bloodwork, but will probably need a P.A fir insurance to pay. So I bury my head. Mmmm. I need a picture of an ostrich! My dinner yesterday made me very nauseous, tried yogurt, even worse. Gotta get done Helli! But then I remember chemical dyes make me very nauseous so forget the hello! Keep thinking of answers - maybe one will be right! Gonna wear a breathing mask next time I go to a doctors office!! Appreciate your concern, feels so good to know someone cares.

jackiesj by the way, that was low blood pressure All adult life). I have pain in back, etc due to the cervical spondylosis and also spinal stenosis, so the pain is constant there. I have started frontal headaches though (usually always at base of skull so these are different) I wish I could find a doctor who cared about me as much as you and erash!!! Hey, have you heard from fancy1959?? She hasn't been on here in long time. Gotta close eyes, left eye is throbbing. I will call the new doc today. Later when I can see to type! God bless!

Perhaps u should see your health care provider. It could be many things and it doesn't sound mild πŸ™

I take ginger caps for mild chronic nausea. I thought was due to my Tegretol and is less but persists even when off the Tegretol

agapepilgrimβ€’ in reply toerash

What are ginger caps?? Been drinking ginger green tea. Is that the same, ginger tea??

Hope it's not serious...

Hi, I get really nuaseous early in attacks. I don't usually upchuck from it but sometimes so bad mouth waters profusely. But my stomach is in a knot around esophagus from reflux surgery so it's more difficult to vomit.

Sorry to hear that Hidden i have acid reflux and sometimes I forget my Prilosec and my daughter gets aggravated at me because she explained about esophagus problems that leads to. But I'm not eating right now, so I stopped it temporarily It is difficult for me to actually vomit/ probably 10x in my life. I just gag and gag, but last Wednesday I thought my insides was coming out!! Thought it would pass, but not yet.
