Congratulations Erin!!! 🤗 Let the fun begin. The worst is behind you. Do you have a new home lined up yet?

We stopped looking when we realized our house would have to be sold before making any offer. We will begin in earnest now.

I wish you the absolute best of luck! Hopefully you won't end up in an apartment.

We are looking only at houses. My sweet husband would go nuts if he didn't have anywhere to grow some berries, and I still want at least a small garden. We just no longer can handle acres of land and all the work that goes with it. And we don't need a 5 bedroom house anymore! Something will turn up, no doubt.

Hopefully you won't need a transitional place. We're only in an apartment 6 more days. I want my stuff back. Luckily it was only for 5 weeks.

Juleigh21 last time we sold. It sold in one day. Thankfully it was an investor and we were able to rent it back for a month while we found a house. Maybe you can do that? Funny thing about the house we live in. I was working so much that my wife called me and said I found the house. I asked. Does it have a 2 car garage and a basement. She said yes. So I said buy it! I didn't see it until we moved in! Good thing I trust her! HEHEHEHEHE!

What a blessing for you to have sold it so fast!

greaterexp Congrats! But asking a bunch of people with MS to help move furniture. HMMMMMMM bad Idea.

We are staying in this area, but will probably end up in town. We dearly love being in the country, but it makes better sense to be in or at least nearer to town.

So you dont have a contract on a place? I think that is the easiest. I have been looking and out in two offers while still trying to get my house sold. Today i decided to stop looking.

We probably won't close for 60-90 days, which gives us time to find something suitable. We tried putting an offer on a house before ours had sold, but no one wanted an offer contingent on us selling ours. Understandable.

Wow! What an answer to prayer. So very happy for you, greaterexp . 💞

Congratulations. We actually signed a contingent contract on our new place yesterday. The inspection went great on the sale of this house. Now in a few days will find out for sure that our sale is final. Then will close on both on July 18 if all goes well. I'm excited. The new place comes with 3 acres. A shop for my cars when I get able and a pool for my aquatic therapy. God is so good to us. I praise his holy name. Again congratulations.

Thanks. If everything goes thru it will be wonderfully. We're going back to the country. We used to be country as you could get. But now there are subdivisions all around. I was born a country boy and will always be. This is mostly wooded so very little grass to cut. And the pool will def help my walking and back.

Hopefully this will be my last move. Last one ever. Thank God for my son and my grandson to do the moving. All we have to do is pack. Like that's not more than enough. Lol.

We always thought we'd go out of this house feet first. We will be sad to go and will miss our lifestyle out here. God has something different for us, and that's fine. I will have some terrific help when the moving time comes. I can start packing some things every day to make it easier, too. I hope your move is the last one for you. It sounds like a wonderful place!

We always thought the same. But my wife is a pretty serious diabetic and after my dx we realized that with our house payment it would be a struggle for her to retire if either of our health got worse. So we are lucky enough that we had enough equity in our house to sell out here and be almost out of debt in our new house. She will be 62 day after tomorrow so she can draw her ss. Houses in this area are very expensive so we did very good on our sale. And houses are much cheaper where we are going. Good luck finding your new home and God bless.

Thank you so much. We want to not only reduce our work load, but reduce our mortgage, too. I've haven't worked outside the home for about ten years, and hubby may retire in about 10 years. We hope to use the equity in this house for the next, too.

I've been disabled since my 1st back surgery in 2004 Then the one in 2006 put icing on the cake. Lol. 2 hard years of fight for disability received it in 2008. So I've been out of work a long time. We cut our house payment by at least 60% so now my wife can finally retire. If We don't kill each other. Lol. . Even though I'm going from 1 to 3 acres I'm cutting our work load by having more woods and less yard to maintain. God I'm proud to going back to the country. Good luck and God bless.

jackiesj ,

Even after the relapse was remitting, I realized that even my best day was not going to be enough for the workload we had with 20 acres, mowing, watering, animals, and all the care of fruit trees, vineyard, berries, etc., and all the freezing and canning I had to do. Cleaning a 5 bedroom home seems overwhelming. My sweet husband was already tired with working a full time job and then having more to do here. He was really reluctant to think about it until he really saw how limited I was. I knew moving would be hard enough at my level of ability now, but how could we possibly do it if/when I should become completely disabled? We found a home with only one level, and it will be closer to doctors and conveniences. God has worked it all out for us, and though we are sad about leaving, we feel it's best, and can now feel grateful that soon we won't have all this work! I'll be awfully glad to be done with the move, but we should be done by August 29th!

I wish you well with your decision. It isn't easy, but you'll surely find the right timing.
