Tremors

I have had MS for at least several years though diagnosed a year ago. Everything has progressively gotten worse, especially my tremors. A specialist has suggested botox injections in my neck to calm my head from bouncing around, which adds to my exhaustion. Does anyone have experience with botox injections? I'm all for it if it helps.

Hello Ratsue, it's Fancy1959. Since we have not spoken yet I wanted to welcome to the chat room. We are glad you have found this wonderful chat room. it is a safe place to come and ask questions, voice concerns, and speak to someone truly understand what you are going through because we're also going the same or similar things. I have never had Botox suggested for head spasms but I have had Botox suggested for esophageal spasms. I told them that seem like a terrible waste of Botox to stick it in my neck! (Ha,ha!) I believe they told me I would have to repeat the injections once or twice a year. I've never had any injections since medication has been able to control the spasms. I hope to hear from you often. Please take care. And remember together we are stronger!

Hi Fancy1959. Can I ask what medications you take to control your spasms? I am getting desperate to try anything. Thanks.

I don't but you are the first person I've come across that also has neck tremors. I have that in the same spot most night watching TV and when I'm tired. It like someone takes my head and jerks it to the side. I hate it!!!

I am totally at ease (no tremors) when my head is back resting on something, like my lazyboy recliner. It makes my already affected vision worse, double vision.

Hi Ratsue and welcome ☺ l have never had the injections of Botox, but will be talking to my Neuro about it at my next appointment, for leg spasticity. As l have such a problem with Baclafin and Flexeril doesn't work at all.

Please if you do this let me know how you make out. I would love to know! Just as lm sure others will.!.

Sorry l didn't get back to you sooner, lm running behind. Ugh But look around and jump in at anytime! We also have a birthday club ☺ if you want to let jimeka know, she can put you on the list.

~Helpful Hint~ If put an @ in front of the person who your addressing, they will be notified. IE @ jesmcd2 *With No Spaces*

@Ratsue I am catching up after being away a few days and saw your question about botox. Besides MS, I also have Essential Tremor which causes my hands, head, voice, and legs to tremor. My neuro. had spoken about botox as a possibility to help the head tremor, but it would only be temporary and would need to be re-injected every few months. I did not end up getting the shots. I hope you find something that works.
