This hawk comes regularly to our yard. He let me get close enough to snap a picture. Had no idea that he had such vibrant colors on his wing tips. If you can enlarge, you can see the colors.

He (or she) doesn't come every day, but we see him quite frequently. We also get ospreys, great herons, egrets, and one lone stork. I'll try to sneak up on one of them for a photo.

Lonae60, it's Fanc1959 responding to your post. I absolutely love to watch birds of prey. They are so graceful yet so deadly. We have several pair that frequent the farmland we live on in Woodford County Kentucky. Last Summer we even caught a brief glimpse of a bald eagle in flight. It was absolutely amazing. Thanks, glad to be back. I was dealing with another bought of OPTIC NEURITIS. All is well now and am looking forward to the holidays. Half way done with my shopping. Love online shopping. Best way to shop with fatigue. 😉

Ew optic neuritis. Had it twice, I don't like either. I have enough trouble keeping me head on straight, let alone seeing cross eyed. Lol

Welcome to our site Poohgirl. I was able to get a picture of an eagle at the lake edge one day. I'll have to look for it and post it. Majestic creatures.
