Oh, my, that has to be one of the most spectacular displays of fall color I have ever seen! Did your brother snap that pic? Thanks for sharing, Erash. Maybe I should say that reminder of God's beautiful creation is what I am thankful for today.

Tutu, I think it's from an Internet photo...the leaves have already fallen in NC.

But agree with you on God's creation. And interestingly, this morning I was thinking of three very different places I've been that were paradise on Earth: Garmisch Germany, Pacific Grove California and the Mohave Desert (in the fall).

How about you?

I've been to Garmisch, but it was in the spring. Germany is one of my favorite places, as is the U.K. where some of our friends here live. Looking out over endless fields of gold from Stirling Castle in Scotland (of William Wallace/Braveheart fame) will remain with me forever. But the fall? I'm a mountain girl at heart. Lake Arrowhead, CA, Issaquah, WA, and Erwin, TN (all of NE TN, actually).

The Mohave Desert? That's an interesting fall choice.

The Mohave was the Army's choice ( desert training) but I fell in love with it!

When were you in Garmisch? I think it was 1979 for me. Again thanks to the Army.

I liked London, but was only there for 3 days for the marathon in 1999. I would love to go back and see more of the U.K.

I think it was 1989. We visited family. They were stationed at Stuttgart then. Berchtesgaden was beautiful too.

London was ok, but I prefer the smaller towns and countryside. I'd love to go back...

That was a quick trip, but I understand. I'm sure you enjoy reliving the memories of places you've visited (and races you participated in). I do...💕

As soon as the family move out, there will be a spare bed at mine if you want to use us as a base, my door is always open, I suspect next June their house should, hopefully be finished.

Thank you! And maybe you need a Washington getaway between now and June. 🌈
