My mom did the same thing as we grew up. Until about 10 years ago we always had an outside clothes line. Kinda cool 😎

Not in a very, very long time. Oh, I did have to steam his dress pants to a suit awhile back that I hemmed up because we both keep shrinking (at 76 and 86).

I remember that! Mama had 2 daughters tall enough to reach the clothesline when that spoiled 3rd daughter arrived and messed up load after load of cloth diapers. (the disposable diapers were for 'travel only' back then). Oh yes, we saved a lot of electricity by not running the dryer. Remember the mad dash to gather the clothes in before a summer rain sprang up? Simpler times! 😉 Thank you for that memory!

Yes, we watch for the rain. If he happens to go the store, a few times I have had to go bring them in and usually get a trigger point pain in my lower back. He usually watches the weather report and doesn't do the wash if it's cloudy. (Yes, he does the wash, but I separate them into loads. He gets up at 6 am every morning and is bored). I love the smell of the sheets and the stiffness of them. Don't like the stiff towels, though, but does save electricity. He took out our dishwasher and washes all the dishes. Like I said, he gets bored.
