Couldn't figure out how to post this picture to the Today's Hobby thread. This is a pic that I did in watercolors this summer. I'm not talented enough to come up with my own pictures, so this is one that I copied from watercolor artist that I like named Terry Harrison.
15 minutes at a time can eventually accomplish something.

I copied another pic that Terry Harrison did of a house at the end of a flowery path. I changed out the house to be a little cottage. I wonder if it would be enough of a change to submit. I'm almost done with it.
I think it would be! No different than 2 people looking at the same still life and recreating it in different paintings. Perhaps a recreation of a well known Mona Lisa would be more controversial...
Oh my goodness! I am impressed by all the talent here. Seriously! I think you may have a new career when you retire from your present one!
Bring on the pics of your beautiful creations, everyone!!! I may not have your talents, but I sure love to bask in the beauty of your creations. Some days we just need a touch of beauty. Thanks. π
Just keep at it. I painted when I was a kid and then again in college. I didn't do it again for years and years and was afraid to start back again. To venture back in, I bought a few paint by number kits and began that way to get my confidence back. It worked!
Lona60, it's MSFighter and your watercolor is absolutely beautiful! I love the watercolor media and it is not as easy as it looks to make a picture turn out as perfect as yours has. Thanks for sharing it with us. It sure is a bright spot for me to look at this evening.π
Iona, these are stunning! Wish I could do something like you did. I'm into copying! I used to go to Christmas Botiques (can't remember/nor can I spell) and would buy an ornament that I could copy with the intent of joining a selling group, but never followed through with it since MS took feeling away from my hands. Still have the supplies, though. I do still have my photography, which gives me much satisfaction. You should see the 50 sunset pics from my sidewalk and the 72 full moons from my driveway! Could probably go thru them and narrow it down, but why, right? Enjoy the pleasure of your talent and your family, Iona. My numb fingers are mistyping because they are also cold. Happy Thanksgiving!
Lonan60, it's Fancy1959. I absolutely love water colors and you have done a fantastic job on his beautiful painting. I agree with erash about checking out the criteria for the MS Artist of the month.
Oh, I think you must be talented enough to come up with your own, too. Heck, from what I am seeing of the beautiful wildlife and garden photos, you have things right at your fingertips you could paint. I'm looking forward to following along as you share more of your incredibly talented journey.
