I’ve just been diagnosed with this condition after being wrongly diagnosed with vertigo. I’m waiting for an MRI scan to find out the extent of it.

Hi there, Unfortunately this happens all too often. What symptoms do you experience on a daily basis. While you are waiting for you MRI can you tell me what the doctor is saying at this point?

There is a plethora of information on our website that may help myelopathy.org. We also have a Facebook Support Group called Myelopathy.org Support Group.

Please ask any questions, however please understand that I am not a medical doctor, I am someone with Myelopathy trying to support other with Myelopathy.

Thank you,

Sheila

Many thanks. I have dizziness and my balance isn’t good. I’m so exhausted with it all. I also have osteoporosis and have had a lot of pain in my neck. The doctor has suggested physio and anti inflammatory painkillers so we’ll see. The website is very informative - thanks.

Do you have an appointment for an MRI yet? Let me know when you have had a chance to review our website. I am not sure where you are located, but you can also search for CSM which is the acronym we originally used a while back. If you can go to the Myelopathy.org website, you can search on symptoms as well as review our podcast Myelopathy Matters on SoundCloud, Spotify or Apple. They offers so much information that can help you understand this diagnosis.

Thank you best wishes.

Sheila

I’m still waiting for an MRI appointment. The website is very interesting and informative and I completed the survey. As my diagnosis is new, I’m very anxious. I’ve also had flu for 4 weeks so my general health is quite poor. I’m doing lots of research and slowly learning how to deal with it and rebuild my fitness. Hope you’re well and thank you so much. Chris
