After trying some whitening products, she got like sun burn. Her nose & forehead also appears with some. Could it be Melasma? After this, it has become stubborn, trying all kind of products or taking all supplements which are claimed to be useful, but for her only with very little effect. Is there a way, supplement or skin care products that can help her?

Hi deylia,

Your relative really needs to see a doctor. There are numerous conditions that can cause pigmentation changes.

For more information about Melasma go to: dermnetnz.org/colour/melasm...

Melasma can be triggered by toiletries and cosmetics. There are several treatments that can be applied to the skin, but they will need to be prescribed by a doctor.

Skin whitening can be quite risky and can cause uneven colour change. For further information go to: nhs.uk/Livewell/skin/Pages/...

All the best,

Shell.
