I developed infantile eczema in 1942 when my mother was unable to breast feed me anymore and I was transferred to a powdered milk. The eczema plagued me into my early twenties before almost disappearing.
In December 2022 I was diagnosed with Covid. A few days later I was aware of two itchy red spots on the inside of my right calf. These looked like insect bites but the following day they had increased in number to five. This was the start of what was eventually diagnosed by a dermatologist at Edinburgh Royal Infirmary as widespread Asteatotic Eczema. This is now a major disruption in my life, mainly during the night and mostly on my legs. Has anyone else suffered an eruption of eczema after contracting Covid-19?
