Hello everyone. I’m a male in my 20s. I noticed a lump under my skin just above the left knee that is very difficult to see so I won’t post a picture as it doesn’t even show. But it definitely can be felt. There is a very small scab like thing in the center that is dark purple. There was something sticking out that looked like a piece of skin. I first noticed this a few days ago. I thought maybe I had injured myself somehow and gotten something stuck in my skin. I washed my hands and tried pulling at the scab with a tissue. It started bleeding but I could not get out the skin like thing that I felt was stuck under. I had to use a tweezer and what came out surprised me. It looked like a cone like structure that was firm yet soft and could be bent, like a nail but softer. I have posted a picture of the cone. I’ll watch it for a while and if I see changes or if it doesn’t go away I’ll contact the doctor of course.

I noticed a lump under my skin with a very small scab like center, should I be worried?
Dear WK1010,
Strange and I'm not, too sure, of what to 'make' of this. My first Feeling, until I saw the picture, was that perhaps something had got Pushed Under, your skin. You mention a scab, after all. From you description this, could be, a small piece of 'Cartilage' and since it was near the knee.....
My 'gut' feeling is- If It 'settles down', without any 'lumps' and isn't PAINFUL, in any way then.... Maybe just Mention it, when you next see the Doc. However if it continues to be a Worry, my feeling is it 'may very well be' then book an appointment as soon as you can. Difficult at the moment, I know, but this WILL end- we Will get through this.
Don't 'panic' too much though.....

Thanks for replying. It seems to have healed, there now is a normal scab without any skin sticking out but the lump is still there (but it is smaller) and it is painful to touch. Not sure what to do about this, I don’t want to go to the doctor only because of a small lump in my knee.
