Face rash - what is it?

Hi all, I'm looking for some advice about a rash down my face and neck, that suddenly appeared overnight 2 days ago, and hasn't gone away since!

All my life I haven't had allergies, so I'm perplexed as to what may have caused this irritation.. it's red (as u can tell from the pic) but it's also really bumpy, and my skin is now really tough and dry. Using moisturiser only made it worse.

Any ideas?! It's really getting me down, especially as I can't pin down the cause! Thanks

Think you might need to pop to your GP to get a response, but it may be that someone on this forum might have more of a clue.
