I’ve had eczema ever since i was born with occasional flare up but this one on my arm I’ve had for months and nothing helps. I’ve been to the doctors and been given cream after ointment after steroid but nothing helps it just seeks to be getting worse and spreading. Has anyone got any advice what else i could try. Some days its scabby others its oozing and then goes flaky and constantly itchy no matter what i do. I dont use anything fragranced or perfumed. Thanks in advance.

My best suggestion is you try DHEA start on a small dose of 10 mg also if you could get your progesterone levels tested as if you are low in progesterone then estrogen can be dominant and estrogen promotes allergies

Cortisol is important for allergic reactions too I am taking a bovine adrenal gland capsule because I was on steroids for 2 weeks - not something I wanted to do but it helps my adrenals get working again - cortisol is antiinflamitory and so very important

If you type in eczema and DHEA you might come across some people who have had very good results from taking DHEA for their eczema

It could possibly be Dermatitis Herpetiformis (DH) which is caused from a reaction to wheat gluten. The symptoms you describe and the look of the rash itself are indicators. Regardless though, of whether it is eczema or DH (I happen to have both), dietary and lifestyle modifications are necessary for improvement. Strict avoidance of gluten, of course, is necessary if it is DH, but it can also help eczema (as avoiding any of your triggers, food or otherwise, can).

Jennifer Fugo, who suffers from eczema, is a Clinical Nutritionist. She has a podcast (Skinterrupt.com) with great advice and guests on healing skin issues.

Also, Dr. Stephanie Davis (Functional Medicine) has some good advice (she is a sufferer as well), because there are so many aspects that affect skin and its behavior. The link below has some good info:

I know how aggravatingly miserable it is. It takes trial and error and can be a slow go. But, hang in there. It is worth it when you start seeing improvement. I will say that, for me, getting off gluten made the biggest difference. The rash I had (that looked like yours) stopped itching, scaling, burning, and oozing and slowly disappeared. Absolutely nothing else had helped (creams, antibiotics, or antifungals).

I hope some of this helps and that you can catch a break and find some relief very soon.😊

Check this out!! If didn't s where s smart as they think then thy would know a hell lot about what lupus, lesions, etc was really and not poison us with medication. I trust God not man! I've been doing my on research and studying. And I found something that is good and has worked in the last 24 hrs. Trust me I wouldn't lead you astray or tell you something that would harm you and especially me!! Sometimes you just have to take a chance and do your own research. Drs are not always right. If you are willing to try what I am using send me a message. No disease or skin rash is gonna take my down like a punk and to God be the glory for leading me to where I am today m. Love you

Make sure there's no mold in your home or workplace. I know it sounds obscure, but it's really not. Microbes regularly cause unexplained, difficult to treat skin reactions and acne. So look for peeling paint, discoloration, carpets that were wet, leaking under sinks, showers/bathrooms with regular growth, sub floor problems under the house. Microbes offgas chemicals and as they break down the substrate more chemicals are released, the skin, mucous membranes and openings on body are the first affected.

You could consider making your own mix of Shea butter, with some argan oil in it to thin it slightly, switch the argan for coconut if you have problems with the argan. You could even patch test a small area with the above mix, but add a drop or two of tea tree essential oil to see if it improves it at all.

Yes if not something attacking the skin from the outside like microbes, then something going in to the system like a food trigger are the two paths. Inhalation, dermal or eating.

Hope you get relief xx

I was diagnosed a year ago with demetis and eczema etc. I've refuse to be a study but I think I might he able to to help you with natural foods if you like. One thing I noticed is that people only trust Drs and jot the good Lords remedies. Its cost is sufficient and we probably eat it every day but it has helped with my skin issues and I'm still waiting for more successfulness and practice on myself. Buy some fresh clove and make a tea everyday. Use coconut oil on skin and if you want the rest send me a message. I need to patent this one!! No Dr nor study has tried the mix. I promise you it will help you ease some irritation or all!! 😁😂😀

As a fellow sufferer, I can so feel your pain. Just the image makes my skin hurt....

okay! This is my list of what I use and for me it works, and has really helped me get some control of my Ezcema:

Moisturiser - gold cross soft white parrafin cream (I’ve used it for years now and it’s given the most relief of all the creams I’ve tried over 26 years of having Ezcema)

Bath - Hamilton Bath Oil (get some and soak! All the other bath oils for Ezcema have never worked for me personally but Hamilton just works like a dream. If you can, runna warm (not hot) bath and put several pumps of oil in the water then just soak your body for long as you can. When reacting it’s good to soak at least once a day, and when not, twice a week. If you don’t have a bath you can also apply this all over your body before a shower, give it a moment to soak then rinse off per normal; not as good as a bath hut it can help too! )

Antiallergy - Fexofenadine 180mg. (Take one a day, even when not reacting! Cause it helps build it up in your system which I’ve found can help reduce a current reaction or a reaction you may have at any time)

Steroid ointments, This stuff I’ve been used for years now. It’s my go to ointments whenever I’m flaring up (which like most with bad Ezcema is like everyday). They are:

>Diprosone Ointment - used for all over body minus face on any spot flaring up. Apply a thin coating as it’s quite strong so you don’t need a thick layer

>Advantan Ointment - Good for Dyshidrotic Eczema on the hands and feet. Can help soften skin when it’s gets hard or scaled which can really help reduce the cracking of the skin

>Elidel Cream - for the face. It’s not as powerful so it’s great for around eyes and behind ears or any thin skinned areas.

>Bactroban - anti bacterial for any infected areas. Pretty self explanatory.

A pro tip I can suggest though...it sounds crazy but, if you’ve been using steroid after steroid, sometimes it can be good to break from the steroids just for a day or two. It can really really help make the steroids then work better after given your skin a little break. I find when I’m on that one or two day break, I use the QV intensive Ointment all over. The rotation seems to help make each component work even better than normal somehow.

I know I’m a bit late to the post but I so hope the reaction goes down or has gone down and doesn’t come back! Best of luck!

Hello, I too had chronic eczema since birth, was hospitalised as a baby before it started to improve. It broke out all over my body in my mid teens and a dermatologist helped manage it with very strong steroid ointments on face and arms/legs.

Mine always flared up in the winter which I discovered was due to the lack of vitamin D from the sun. I used sun beds during the winter until 7 years ago when I had a water softener installed at my home. Within a fortnight my skin cleared up and has been free of eczema ever since.

I don’t know if it was drinking the water or showering in it daily but in truth it has transformed my skin.

Good luck
