Dry Scalp

Hi all, just washed my hair and my scalp feels so dry can hardly stand it. It itches 24/7 so have to wash it every day to get the crud off it. Does anyone know of a good shampoo/conditioner for eczema scalp heads?

Hello,

There are loads of anti-dandruff shampoos available in the market, but in these type of cases, you need shampoo that works slightly differently.

Please try below exactly as I suggest -

Purchase 'Ginger Anti-Dandruff Shampoo' from The body Shop and 'T/GEL 2-in-1 Dandruff shampoo PLUS conditioner'. Please apply on alternate days and I am sure you will see benefit after 2 weeks. Please don't forget to leave the Ginger Shampoo on scalp for 3 minutes after application before washing off.

If you have to apply conditioner, please apply 'Simple Kind To Hair Gentle Care Conditioner' - Poundland sells it (supermarket sells at more than double price).

I have a similar problem but mainly at the back of my head towards the bottom of the hairline. I get itches as well especially in bed when my head starts to get warm with a pillow. I've tried lots of different shampoos but not ginger. Let me know if it works.

A number of years ago I had this problem and tried Dead Sea Salts shampoo. My 94 year old father also uses it and swears by it.

Ginger shampoo from body shop is amazing. You only need a really small amount eaxh wash.

Taking flaxseed oil orally will probably help you can also try flaxseed oil capsules

Try using a product called coco scalp, it is a coal tar ointment that is rubbed into the scalp, left on for an hour and then shampooed off. It has coconut oil and other soothing products in it that can help to clean the scalp. Is suitable for dry skin disorders such as dermatitis, eczema and psoriasis etc. I have used it several times and the scalp feels cleaner and not so itchy. It is made in Australia and available if you live in New Zealand. It can be purchased from chemist shops. I'm sure it could purchased online if you do not have it in your area.
