I am new here and was directed from the NHS information page on scar treatment. I am desperate to hear experience and advice on the different scar removal therapies, if anyone has experienced any on here please tell me your story and how effective it was.
I have scars on my arm from self harming over 10 years ago now. As an adult, having this horrible memory on my body, staring me in the face every day makes me feel very uncomfortable and if there was any way I could get rid of them, it would literally transform my life.
I am going to a go for advice but I think it will be somewhat limited. I know there is no magic solution and that it might not even be possible to correct this. But please do share with me if you have had corrective surgery for something similar and how it went.
Thanks

I was attacked by a dog & had plastic surgery on my face. I used bio oil on my scars every night without fail for the first year & I am delighted how they look now.I also have scars on my forearms from surgical tattoo removal & tried bio oil on them but as they were quite old it didn't work so well. Worth a try though, but it must be massaged in every day. I don't think anything will ever completely get rid of them but mine have faded a lot.
Hi thanks the scars are over 10 years old so they are white. Bio oil has done this much but they have been unchanged for years now which is why I am asking about surgery. Medical tattoo seems the best option for me but I am not sure. I was hoping someone may have had surgery on similar scars and could share their experience and results x
A skin specialist suggested pulse light treatment for red patches that don't go away on my chest (that has been exposed to sun in the past). Google it and perhaps that is the way to go?
