Hi, Is it possible that my husband has cellulitis, his legs are badly swollen, red and weeping, occasionaly bleeding the weeping is so bad it goes through a large pad dressing and the bandages and the swelling is from the ankle to his buttocks, The doctor insists it is fluid retention but i do not think so so should he be on antibiotics

Your symptoms seem & sounds very much like Cellulitis!! (Bacterial infection) to which I am no stranger. He requires a second opinion & antibiotics as soon as possible.

I agree with timb-uk, definitely get a second opinion. This sounds very like what a work colleague had, she was in her 30's at the time.

I have just had cellulite and would urge you to get your husband to a doctor as soon as possible. It can be very dangerous if left untreated
