Hi I have very painful little lumps hundreds of them all over my thighs front and back and upper arms they cannot be seen only felt and they're very painful if you just press them gently,if I press hard and wriggle them about sometimes they kind of pop but that really stings .

I would like to know what they are and what causes them can anyone help.thank you.

Forget to mention that they are under the skin and you have to press them gently to feel them

This sounds like keratosis pilaris. You can try using salicylic acid acne cleansers. Avoid trying anything above 5% without consulting with your doctor... it can be harsh on the skin if you happen to have a different condition.
