Hard skin on thumbs

hi guys I've get these patches of really hard skin on both thumbs only it peels of its so thick I could cut it of. They go back to normal then it starts all over again.,the skin gets so thick at times I cant bend them. Any ideas?

Just wondering how long this has been going on for and if you have seen a GP or dermatologist about it?

a couple of years on and off I thought it was just psoriasis which I suffer with but my lotion isn't helping at all

ha, my advice would be to go back and pester, pester and pester again until you get a diagnosis and proper treatment!
