Hi,

It depends on the diagnosis. There are many types of red rash that can affect the face and the treatments for each can be very different. For example, for rosacea one might consider low dose slow release doxycycline orally plus topical metronidazole cream, followed up with laser or IPL treatment; for atopic eczema moisturisers and weak topical steroids; for psoriasis calcineurin inhibitors topically etc etc. The key to appropriate advice is knowing the diagnosis! There are many facial rashes to consider, so my advice is see your GP first, and, if they are not certain, get a referral to a local dermatologist for this key diagnostic assessment and then the best advice should be provided to you. Good luck!
