I am suffering terribly from OCD. All due to a trauma. My dr is suggesting Prozac. Has anyone taken this and has it helped?

Thank you,

First, I want to say that everyone is different and reacts differently to medication. I also took Zoloft, which has helped a lot of people, but made me very depressed. Personally, Prozac was amazing, and helped me a lot with my anxiety levels. I experienced a lot of “stress-free” moments, where I could actually take a breath and not have a huge amount of anxiety about something. If you decide to take it, give it time to work. Sometimes your body has to get used to it before anything starts to happen. I also recommend doing some type of therapy with it, because even if it does help your anxiety, therapy will help you manage the amount you still have. Hope this helped!

Thank you! I tried Zoloft and it made me super anxious.

The most effective medication for OCD seems to be Zoloft.

But finding a good therapist to learn ERP is essential.

I took it. Made me lose healthy inhibitions and only somewhat helped anxiety.
