Sorry to learn of the deteriorating condition of your husband. Please note that Tracheostomy is done to make breathing easier. Has the consultant told you the reason(s) for the stridor and also why is that worsening? What is the specialization of the consultant? Best wishes to you and your husband.
My lovely daughter had a tracky 18 months ago, after a few days she could eat, talk and breathe obviously not as before, up until recently she was managing but she is now in hospital trying a Bipod as her breathing had deterioated. She is very young to have this awful condition but she is so determined to try everything ! The condition started in 2019 but wasn't dianosed until 2022.
