Dear TMRC012WHi. Please clarify are you talking of Coat Hanger effect or Hanger effect? In all probability, it seems you are talking about the Coat Hanger pain? Best wishes

Hello,

Coat Hanger pain is often associated with low blood pressure. Whilst you should always talk to your health professional about these things, there is a very useful factsheet on the UK's MSA Trust web site which you may find here:-

msatrust.org.uk/wp-content/...

Jackie suffered from coat hanger pain from time to time and I know how debilitating it can be. I hope the fact sheet helps you.

Take care, Ian

Hello,

Coat hanger pain is a symptom of low blood pressure.

My husband gets it mainly just before bedtime probably because the meds he takes in the day to raise his BP have worn off as we don’t want his BP too high when he is laying down at night.

Also blood may be diverted to digestive system after his evening meal and that probably doesn’t help.

We try to combat it by drinking water to raise BP and I try to quickly get him to bed so he can rest his head back fully supported.

Some people take pain meds for coat hanger pain and on previous posts people have also tried acupuncture and osteopathy.

I hope you find something that works for you.

Lorna

My wife had coat hanger pain it was unbearable for her. She had two sets of Botox injections about 6 weeks apart it did help for about 4 months at a cost of £1000.

Thanks, it only happens occasionally and I don’t know if it’s because of blood pressure issues or diabetes sugar issues.
