We have a Geberit wash dry toilet and it has a high rectangular bit behind it. Until recently, we were using a mini lift (fantastic piece of equipment) to get my husband onto the toilet and he would stay attached which would keep him stable. Unfortunately we have now moved onto hoisting him and are using a shower chair- we have tried several different ones and just can’t seem to get on with any of them! As he sits on the toilet 3 times a day for up to an hour at a time (usually less), it’s becoming a real problem! Has anyone found a shower chair that works well? It’s the handle at the back that hits the boxing in behind the seat

Shower Chairs
Jackie had a 'reclining' shower chair provided by wheelchair services in Worcestershire. They had it purpose made to ensure the handles went over the boxing. The reclining function helps considerably when showering as well.
Take care, Ian
Hello
We have the same type of toilet and the shower chair we have is an “etac”. It does hit the rectangular bit on the wall behind the toilet but I just push it right up against that and put the shower chair breaks on to hold it in place.
Also the rails, for a potty/pan that go under the chair to make it into a commode are easily removable and need to be removed in order for the chair to fit over the loo (in our case).
Hope you find a suitable solution to keep hubby comfortable.
Best wishes to you both.
Lorna
It turns out there are 20 etac shower chairs! Do you know which model it is? He is so miserable and normally never complains
Hi,
Sorry I didn’t know there were so many, just had a look on Google, looks like ours is a swift Mobil 2. It was supplied by the NHS. An OT from the Palliative Care Team came out to our home and she ordered it for us.
Have you had any help with getting the right equipment? If you have an OT maybe they could advise you about which chair will be best.
