hi everyone hope your all doing as well as you can. My husband has been feeling nauseous a lot lately as well as dizziness. He has postural hypotension and taking midodrine meds. Is this something that you get with MSA.

Hi there,

My husband is slightly different as he doesn't have MSA he has PAF. He is on Midodrine as well as a host of other medications. He has severe hypo tension and comes very close to fainting if not faints and has seemed to be alot worse lately. We seem to think that it may be due to the warmer weather

Hi purplegoth Thankyou for your reply. My husband also has bad postural hypotension and can fall several times a day. The Midodrine is helping he also takes flodrocortisone both are supposed to raise his blood pressure. Then we have to watch it doesn’t go too high ! It’s such a delicate problem. We all have to keep going don’t we.

Hello, Jackie had severe nausea caused by MSA to the point where she went through a stage of eating very little. The neurologist said it wasn't very common but he had seen it before. Jackie also suffered with postural hypotension. We went through a number of medications to try and manage the nausea and eventually ended up where we started with a drug called Prochlorperazine. This managed the nausea really well to the point where bouts of feeling nauseousness almost never happened.

Take care, Ian

Hi

My Sue in her early stages was feeling extremely dizzy which then caused the nausea. We treat her with prochloraperazine and we have no issues. With her it was the dizziness that caused the nausea.

Ask your GP or Neurologist consultant.
