I am so sad to say that this beast of a disease took Bart from us on January7. However, God took him in his sleep and it seems it was a peaceful transition. Grateful to have had the holidays with him and having had both our children at home. Still quite a shock. God bless all of you still fighting this monster. I pray for all of you. Hello Krista. My thoughts are with you, you must be so sad and shocked. There aren't words to comfort you other than knowing there are many here who understand what you've been through and feel for you at this so difficult time. Keep strong and give yourself time to recoup your own strength knowing that you did all you could for Bart over the years.

sorry to read this Krista. It’s such a surprise when the end comes isn’t it, even though you know that it’s coming one day, you are still caught off guard! Thankful it was peaceful, as it was for us, rest and remember all the good stuff that you shared.

I'm so sorry hear your sad news. I too lost my partner recently and totally understand. I found remembering the best times has helped but it still doesn't replace needing to face the loss. You'll be supporting everyone and forget yourself. My experience is to remember to let people help and talk. I thought I was dealing with my grief by going to work, looking after my children and filling my head with anything that stopped me dwelling on the enormity of my life without Peter. But at some point I have to. My home is full of life but there is such a hole were Peter should be. I mourn the loss of a life we should have grown old together, my children knowing their father into manhood. The only thing that I have comfort from is that his suffering has ended.
