Hi there,
We travelled extensively when Jackie was first diagnosed and we insured through Fogg Insurance 01623 631331. One has to go through a medical declaration process but they knew about, and asked questions relevant to, MSA which was reassuring.
Their loading for MSA was reasonable albeit they will charge an excess for any MSA related claims (£500 excess I recall which we thought okay).
As it happens we had to make a claim (not MSA related) as a car ran over my foot in Turkey!! Very efficient and good to deal with.
Good luck and take care, Ian
Thank you so much for information i will phone them tomorrow ,I was beginning to give up,and think stay at home from now on,the last couple of years have really had their effect i think on older and people with health problems every think seems so difficult to the point of sad thoughts, but fingers crossed.
Have you tried the specialist companies mentioned on the MSA Trust website? We used one and had to claim when C was too unwell to travel. They paid out.
What a shame Fogg have gone bust, they really were very good. Good suggestion from Jane to look at the insurers listed on the MSA Trust web site. There's a fact sheet with loads of information about travel with MSA. It takes some looking for but if you want a quick link it's here: msatrust.org.uk/wp-content/...
Take care, Ian
HiWe have used staysure and insureandgo before, declaring preexisting medical conditions.
I would recommend an email or live chat also to ascertain they are happy about MSA as its a rare condition.
