Throbbing finger tips
My husband experiences this. It seems to travel, and not always in his hands. I struggle with his sister who is a chiropractor, and doesn't believe he has MSA-C. She thinks it's a pinched nerve in his back, because of where it effects his hand. If it were only that easy! He also is starting to get what he calls "pain and tingling" in his upper thigh. Not every day, but when it's there, he does complain that even when our 6 pound Yorkie jumps on his lap, he says it hurts his thigh. I believe this is just one of those symptoms of the disease, but it doesn't hurt to have it checked out by a doctor. The response we get is always, yes, that's a symptom of the disease. I'm sorry I don't have anything to offer as help, but know that my husband also has felt this. Luckily it's not everyday, yet anyway.
We are the same he has pains in his lower legs and bottom of feet it wakes him and I have to massage and that does ease it off. Does your husband suffer with stomach pain and constipation mine doesn’t know what to do with himself some days. Wishing you a happy Christmas x
Definitely has the stomach pains and seems to be constipated more than he's not. Stool softeners, psyllium, Metamucil you name it, we have tried it. The doctor prescribed lactulose, which he uses daily, but it doesn't seem to help much. Have a Merry Christmas !
Morning. Hubby has the stomach pains and the constipation. Or should I say has had it. Thank goodness. We do swear by the Macrogol (Laxido). He still takes 2 sachets per day. We tried all the various things for his pain and constipation. For husband what worked in the end is a combination of very second day irrigation for his constipation and he is on the Neupro patch (rotigotine) for his stomach. That is the only thing that worked so far for him. However it comes with sideeffects! Be warned. But currently the benefits outweigh the new OCD symptoms. It is a delicate balancing act.
My husband also has the throbbing in the tips of his fingers. He says it hurts to both make a fist and to flex his hands. They are now almost always in the "flipper" position, fingers together and bent a a 90 degree angle - like penquin flippers. He also says the bottom of his feet, at the arch, are painful to the touch if pressed when massaging and his big toes are sort of always in a 'pulled' back position.
I believe this is from the MSA-C.
Also, he is always constipated... we have him on lactulose 1x/day, stool softener, Senna tea leaf pills, Constella 1x/day and prune juice and anything else we can fit into his diet!
He only has a bowel movement about every 6-9 days! And OH BOY! What a movement it is then! The lactulose and stool softner helps to make it manageable because prior to that it was like a brick... you know what they say!
We are looking at moving to enemas as needed by the VON nurses.
At this point... I know way too much about the elimination processes of the body then I ever wanted to know!
😝🥴
Hi, I was diagnosed approx 6 months ago and have throbbing finger tips on all fingers. This symptom was present for about 1 year prior to diagnosis. I am awaiting surgery for severe bilateral carpal tunnel syndrome, however this would not be the root cause on all 10 digits. Merry Christmas to one and all x
