No however my mum has rheumatoid arthritis which my hemotologist thought was interesting as both immune disorders where your body is attacking itself - however he did say he did not think I had this genetically as I don't have the jak2 mutation with my et - seems to be no one knows how we have got these mpns and still looking at possible exposure to radiations/environment etc
Strange, I would referred to a consultant on the suspicion that I had rheumatoid arthritis 8 years before my ET surfaced. It was like a ring road when I went - no one knew what I had, I had itching, body aches etc - now I know it was ET!!
I have just found out that my Uncle (on my Father's side) had Polycythemia. He was a publican and very heavy smoker. His treatment was regular Venesections. He died aged 83 of Lung Cancer
It does make you wonder doesn't it. Maybe if someone from MPD voice is reading this they can offer some expert advice as to whether these things are genetic. My husband is JAK positive if that makes a difference. I know his nieces and nephews would be interested to know.
