Hi all I'm new and have a bunch of questions , but I'll start with this one. recently I had my gallbladder out after two nasty episodes of pancreatitis. 4 weeks later I gota rash over the area that won't go. Wondering if it's related to bomademstat or not, had it now 5months, it's red a bit raised and hot and itchy.

A study published in The Journal of Infectious Diseases1 examined the risk of shingles before and after a new cancer diagnosis across a range of cancer types among approximately 240,000 adults in Australia. Researchers found that a cancer diagnosis of any kind was associated with about a 40% increase in risk for developing shingles compared to the risk in someone without cancer. Patients with hematological cancers had a more than 3-fold higher risk of developing shingles, while patients with solid tumor cancers had a 30% higher shingles risk.

To me it sounds like Urticaria, an allergic reaction on a sensitive spot thats been caused by some disbalance to the immune system. No matter what we are on, its great to be on an antiinflammatory diet to keep us as balanced as possible. Please check this out with a dermatologist and also look up side effect of Bromademstat under drugs.com

👍

Bomedemstat is an experimental drug, so it is not covered by drugs.com. I wonder how you got on to the trial, CalrAusHooman! Lucky you! I've looked into getting on a trial with bomedemstat for the last couple of years, but not with any success.

I think it's all about who your hematologist is and where . Mine is very proactive and dedicated, I had 3 before him, I kept changing hems til I found one I could see was really engaged in the latest research. He's also a real human being, in Australia, some of these trials are on the UK, Germany and Australia, some might be in USA. All the best .

Im not on Brmedemstat. Tried HU, massive neurological symptoms. Anagrelide works, but cause me heart pounding and Im already stage 1,5 Mitral valve insufficiency. Therefore I was allowed to get Besremi, which worked great after about 7 months. But, that also when the terrible pain in my ligaments and tendons:wrists, fingers, feet, r. knee, neck! crippling. I stopped restarted, stopped restarted. lowest dose. It kept getting worse. Im waiting for other possibilities. until then im on Anagrelide but have found alternative ways to fight the symptoms. Hemotologists dont have all the answers. The alternatives find clever ways because they think out of the box.😃

Hi Anag, where are you in the world, there are better drugs available if your near a hospital doing a trial, I swear by alternative health measures, alongside my prescribed meds, I do my research and have a background in natural medicine, I don't believe you have to choose, when understood, all of it can work well, as long as you have an open minded hem prepared to work with you, thier input is very helpful in adding your own herbs to work on the side effects etc. make some enquiries about clinical trials in your area, all the best.
