My MPN care team says it is fine. Just do not overdo. Be kind to your liver.

hello. I’m on Pegasys and drink wine in moderation. Also the occasional gin & tonic No ill effects . I don’t drink whisky or vodka simply because I’m not keen on it. I like Pepsi cola but not coca cola

Yes - that should be fine. Although I’ve now given up alcohol I drank normally on Pegasys for 8+ years.

Just make sure you stay well hydrated too, as that can be exacerbated by Pegasys, and bear in mind that it can also put extra stress on your liver and kidneys.

My MPN specialist says as long as liver and kidney readings are within normal limits no problem in moderation - when my liver readings spiked at beginning of Peg treatment I did abstain until they were back in line..

Thank you all for your help.

occasional will make no difference, for more than occasional for some it can push up liver numbers on Peg and maybe other cyto drugs

I asked my Hematologist that, and he said that would be OK. It does make me have a small headache afterward now more than before.
