Massage Gun? OK for ET Jak2 74year old? On Hydroxicarbamide and Apixaban

I'm a 74 year old Man with ET Jak2 on Hydroxicarbamide and Apixaban.

Any ideas whether it's safe to use a small massage gun to relieve pain in Hips suffering from Arthritis? Tried out for very short time one that our son-in-law had, it seemed great. I don't suffer with bleeding, no bad response to blood tests or surgical removals of cells on hands and face. Looking forward to your views. Paul

Hi. I encourage you to check with your MPN doctor first. Mine told me to avoid deep tissue massage. I’m on blood thinners which might be the reason but it may just be due to my MPN. Good luck. Katie

Hi Paul, it would be best to ask your haematologist or you clinical nurse specialist, just to be sure that it is ok to use it. Best wishes, Maz

I’m on Pegasus Interferon and Apixaban. I’ve used a tens machine when I hurt my back with no adverse effects, but I’m not sure about a massage gun, probably best to check.
