Hi folks

Just a quick question; has anyone with MF been advised it’s still recommended to have the autumn booster?

Thanks

Yes, I have.

Before my diagnosis with MF, I received two COVID shots. The second shot made me feel worse than actually having COVID.

I’ve had MF for nearly three years and have asked multiple specialists about whether I should continue getting boosters. The response has always been that it's up to me. Some studies indicate that MF patients may have an increased risk of severe outcomes from COVID infection.

Despite being in close contact with COVID-positive people, including children in my home and passengers on flights, I have not contracted COVID. Perhaps I’ve just been lucky. I'm fit, healthy, and practice strict hand hygiene, though I don’t wear a mask.

This is just my personal experience. Make your decision based on your disease stage, health status, immune response, and your specialist's recommendation.

I am 5years with MF and after a very bad dose of covid a few years back I have had every booster available and have not had it again

That’s my experience but the decision must be yours

I have had primary MF for 10 years now and have had all the COVID shots and boosters and the flu jabs. It has always been recommended that I have these to reduce the risk of more complicated symptoms if I caught COVID.

I was advised to get the booster, and the flu shot. I got both without any major issues, but I was a bit tired the day after the shots - and my arm was sore. 69M

I was advised to have the Covid booster again along with my flu jab. I had both around a weeks ago and didn’t experience any adverse effects.

Many thanks for responses folks.

In the end I bit the bullet yesterday and had the jab. My concern was that I’ve just been diagnosed with MF from PV/ET and the last two I had me very poorly - far worse than the couple of times I’ve come down with Covid.

Fortunately, so far, apart from having some aches and pains, I’m generally feeling okay so fingers crossed that will continue.

Thanks again
