This is well within the normal variance we see in platelet levels. Platelets can vary by as much as 100 in a single day based on what is going on in the body. My PLTs used to cycle from the 500s to the 700s. If something was triggering reactive thrombocytosis, PLTs could go into the 900s.
An isolated read a little higher than you usually see is not something to worry about. It is the trend over time that matters.
Good tokeep an eye on changes. But as Hunter says . One off raise. Of platelets isn't cause for concern. What is in the blend of mushrooms you are taking. ?
my platelets can swing by 100k or more with nothing out of the ordinary. I try to be consistent with taking of blood tests on same day of week and at early time, drink plenty of water and always fast before. Have learned platelets are affected negatively by duress and recent vaccines as examples. Hematology always says to not worry about swings—look at the trend.
Fasting is not essential before blood tests for our complaint only if it was relating to cholesterol reading checks. I have bloods taken varying dates & times which have never effected readings 👌
I fast because I am at lab for blood draw by 6:30 AM every Tuesday morning. Rather than rush breakfast I have a big drink of water and go to lab after taking care of our little schnauzers AM routine. Then I am back home within an hour and can take my time eating a good breakfast. I also noticed that when rushing breakfast I tended to be in grab and go mode with a choco chip muffin. That got my glucose readings up. Though never to alarm level, I didn’t like it being higher than normal. So today’s lesson in too much info. 😁
Thanks Leepee for your enquiry - yes trends are where its at and your level is still moderate for someone with MPN so don't concern yourself too much, and great to see that you are taking mushrooms as a supplement - this is something that I have been meaning to look at introducing again into my routine and so thank you once more for the reminder My belief is that an MPN can be a gift if it prompts us to honour our bodies in the most loving and nourishing ways, and irrespective of our condition there is so much we can always do to help our bodies heal, and manage on this curious and uncertain journey - Keep the Faith peeps X
