I plan to reach out to the MPN team at Guys and request a consultation. I have PV with early MF and I am not currently on any medication. My blood counts are normal.
Can anyone tell me how to do this? Do I just call them or does my Dr need to refer me?
My Hematologist is very good but very slow and I feel the need to take control of the situation and reach out to them myself.
Please can someone also let me know if they have done similar and how long it took them to get a consultation.
Another question I have if you don’t mind me asking is does anyone else have early MF with “normal blood counts” I feel well generally but do get tired regularly and I have pains in my knee and legs.
Many thanks as always!

GP can refer, but make sure they refer you to MPN team not general haematology. Mine got it wrong, which caused hassle and two sets of appointments. Will be seeing the team in early December. I’d been a patient there before but I’d moved home to Oxford then Edinburgh. Now back in Surrey, near Dorking. Incidentally, if anyone lives near Dorking would be nice to have a local meet up
HiI had my first appointment at Guys yesterday although my MF is being treated at a hospital in a different group. I asked my GP to refer me, as my current haematologist said she couldn't. I got the appointment quite quickly so I don't see why you shouldn't be able to do the same. Good luck!
