Hi I’m looking to buy an ice pack for an upcoming trip from London to Australia. Does anyone have any recommendations I could get off Amazon or somewhere similar I’m travelling on the 20 th September so need something pretty quickly. Thanks.

I just bought a Disoncare , it’s designed for Insulin but I use it for other meds , it has a temperature display on the top for monitoring. My particular meds need 2-8 Celsius, the only issue I have so far is it seems to be at 1 Celsius for the first day or so then stays between 2 and 8. I asked the manufacturer how to get 2 Celsius instead of 1 and they said to leave the plastic ice pack out of the flask for 30 to 60 mins instead of the recommended 5-15 minutes. It stays cool for a few days, I think it’s a good product I just need to experiment with how to get 2 Celsius instead of 1.

take ordinary ice blocks, food bags , zipper bags and a small cool bag. I toured auz and nz for 6 weeks. It’s easier to go and ask for some ice cubes than to struggle and hope ice packs will freeze. Oh and a small fridge thermometer. Also quite a few pharmacies will dispose of your needles.

I know one patient who puts his Peg in a tin cigar case, puts it in a vacuum flask and fills with ice, seems reasonable idea although how would one know the temp of the peg in there.

I forgot to say I toured for 6 wks. I had to take about 3 peg 90mg I needed one a fortnight. Ice cubes were far better.

How do you know if the Peg is still good at the end and how do you know what temp the Peg is being store at, does it just have to be cool or is there a recommended storage temp range.

You need a fridge thermometer think you have to keep between 2 and 6

I use the gel ice packs that the Besremi is shipped to me with. On long trips, I use two packs. Also wrap the Besremi pack in a layer of bubble wrap so the box is not in direct contact with the ice packs. I use a Yeti cooler bag to transport. This arrangement easily makes a 12 hour trip.

Soft cooler with ice packs sent with Besremi. Then can either put in fridge at hotel or bring empty plastic bags and fill them with ice. I just threw the ice packs away before I came home.

I fly every year I use the above cool bag. Not had a problem. A little bulky but necessary.

Very helpful if you phone them.

Only problem I’ve had was this year on my return from Sydney. As the bag was empty they tried to tell me I couldn’t return with it. My advice pack it in your luggage in the hold don’t carry it.

happy travels.
