So having switched to every other week on 45mcg of Peggy my HCT appears to be getting control but my Neutrophils are again low [0.5]. My Haemotologist has said to stop injecting until they get back above 1 and then go to 3 weekly injections.
It's interesting to note my cell distribution width has reduced to top of normal. I'm wondering if that means my level of abnormal cell production is reducing?
I will keep going in the hope this can work.

Low neutrophils was one of the reasons for extending the interval between my Pegasys doses and it did the trick. I now keep everything in balance with 45mcg every 4 weeks.
Hi Dougy - I wish you well with adjusting the doses to bring your neutrophils up, pls could you tell me a bit about the cell distribution width as this appears to have bypassed me on my PV journey, and be interested to learn more - Thank you and healthy wishes to you
Thank you for sharing. Very interesting to hear of your experience, I hope reducing frequency helps. I'm still quite new to Peg and on high doses weekly, so hoping now levels are normal I can start to drop dose and frequency 🤞
With PV the excess red cells produced are also bigger and sticky, that's part of what causes the thrombosis risk. When having a FBC they measure the mean width. Money appears to be coming down.
I'm keeping a check on all my bloods, well the 5 BCUK recommended Iin their PV info booklet. Still all very new to me but this forum and BCUK are great support. Thank you DougyW for sharing your experience. I hope someone on here can help with your question.
yes mine became better once I went to monthly injections . Body has to adjust to doseage. I started 45 weekly but only for 2 months then monthly but we are all different & our bodies react differently. 👌
As a further update my neutrophils are above 1 so I'm starting to inject again but at 3 weekly and FBC every week. I count this as a big success. Thanks for all the responses.
