critical illness

hi my husband was diagnosed with pv last year 2023 we are trying to claim off our insurance to critical illness but I’m just afraid they will turn it down because on his medical records it says that he has had thrombocytosis from 2012 but my husband was never once told he had this until his diagnosis in 2023

I claimed when I was diagnosed with ET & insurance company settled no problem at all.

I’m not an expert but any previous diagnosis of a different condition would surely be irrelevant.

You should be fine claiming on a critical illness policy for PV.

Amazing news. I am also waiting on news on my husbands claim and feeling worried as the form sent to the gp had questions about staging and malignancy which doesn’t apply to pv. How long did your claim take?

Mine took about 6 weeks from memory. I worried about mine when it was going through but I needn’t have done.
