Rheumatoid arthritis

I have swellings in fingers and toes and told it was arthritis. I'm now taking hydroxy carbamide and have swellings on my knees and inside of my elbows. Also have scoliosis and swelling on my neck and shoulder. Had a nice Dr. Last week and he explained the hydroxy probably is causing rheumatoid arthritis. Looked it up and the synovium is swelling. Had an xray and it showed arthritis. Still no dexta results and he has complained. I also am suffering sjgens . But lots of symptoms are from my fibromyalgia and scoliosis. But the rheumatoid arthritis makes me feel better as was thinking all sorts of things. My left leg from my toes up to my hips keeps me awake at night. Still do 3/4 hour walks every day. So not to bad. Vertigo and tinnitus are also in the mix.. but now more positive answers.

Has your GP refered you to a rheumatologist? It sounds like there's lots going on and you need some help sorting all the symptoms out and probably more meds!!

I was shown the x-ray by the nurse. No word from the Dr. yet! But will see if I can get a rheumatologist appointment. Everything seems to take ages, and I need answers like yesterday..

You note having Sjogren's and your comment in a prior post: "I also have fibromyalgia and that to him was all in the mind" This is a classic experience of a Sjogren's victim, call it fibro and blame it on the patient's imagination. Many Drs can't or won't treat or even acknowledge Sjo. Some of the various ailments you describe are associated with Sjo, Vertigo, tinnitus and the accused fibro fit here. Scoliosis however is not likely Sjo related.

As Spanelmad suggests, you need the care of a rheumatologist as you may have more than one auto immune disease. If you can find one familiar with Sjogren's that would be best, this is not easy to find.

My sister has auto immune disease same other diseases as me. She lives in England and is believed when she says something. She now has Parkinson's as well. Found out yesterday. Brother has bowl big C. Keep checking my kids and grand children, daughter has scoliosis and fibromyalgia, any little pain I'm there , some of us seem to have everything going.
