Hey everyone...
I believe that this article might be relevant to some of us... It certainly was to me... Although I tested negative for Rheumatoid Arthritis (RA), some of you might also recall that I am presently using the Drug Methotrexate (MTX) to help manage my aberrantly high platelet counts, which were previously 900s-1M, (last count 832). In other words, the management of an aspect of my Inflammatory ecosystem... By taking an RA drug, Low-dose (10mg pw), Methotrexate...
Anyways, just thought some of you might find it of interest, as did I...
The more interesting aspect from my perspective Lifam, is that I have found another medication that has helped me to arrest the seemingly ceaseless climb of my very high Platelet regime... (Methotrexate - MTX) coupled with Folic Acid...
Still, early days yet and still watching each blood test here in Sydney with great interest...

Thanks for the article, my husband has RA (30+years).
My husband’s former GP specifically referred to this as Rheumatoid ‘Disease.’ He refused to call it ’Arthritis’ as some medical professionals also do. This is because it can affect many systems (systemic) not just the joints. Unlike Osteoarthritis, it is an autoimmune condition.
You can still have RA and be seronegative. Seropositive RA, which my husband has, tends to follow a more aggressive course.
You can imagine my surprise recently when my husband’s Rheumatologist discussed a new Jak inhibitor treatment (baricitinib). It targets Jak 1 and 2.
my daughter got this when she was 2, right after her meningitis vaccine. (1 in 8 ticks in Austria carry meningitis). Yes. Another vaccine damaged child. Rheumatoid arthritis is not normal arthritis, which is caused by wear and tear. It is the immune system attacking the inside of the cartilage. Depending on the type you have, it may be oligoarthritis which targets up to four major joints of poly arthritis, which targets more joins, big and small. That is really debilitating. My little girl had swollen ankles and had it also in the eyes as uveitis, which was caused by a special form of oligoarthritis that included ANA antibodies, that targeted the back of her eyes. Could only be see by a slip lamp check and no symptoms. Terrifying. By the time one of the four doctors saw it, we were able to avoid blindness. Thank God! It was almost too late.
I always refused methotrexate, because I didn’t was the risk of her having handicapped children later on. I got her into complete remission by cutting out all omega 6 (as much as possible also no pork or pork fat, which are deadly for weak immune systems!!) and giving her best forms of omega 3 with protein together. That is: tons of salmon sushi, pistachios, flax oil in her milk and yoghurt and on her food. Best Greek olive oil in everything. The rheumatism was gone in a month, back 3.5 hrs later, when I let go of the diet and remission again with diet. Now she’s 15 and has no rheumatism.
This story above taught me to seek alternatives to mainstream medicine. For chronic illnesses, alternative and other more natural practices are indispensable!! Cheers, Anag
