Suggest you review the dizziness with both your MPN Specialist and your GP. Dizziness is a common MPN symptom; however, what you are describing sounds like orthostatic hypotension. This can co-occur with hypertension or as a side effect of various medications.
I've always suffered light-headedness when standing. Ironically (sorry!), mine tends to related to low iron. Or at least my symptoms always eased when I took an iron supplement. This was before my PV diagnosis and venesections. So iron isn't really something I should take. I also get restless legs and iron always helped. As per Hunter. It's certainly worth discussing with your care team.
Hi Lyla me too
ET jak 2hydroxcarbiamide ..
I have had really bad episodes since starting Hydroxycarbamide … so dizzy I can’t stand up but I also had episodes before , when not medicated .
. I thought it was post prandial Hypotension because it relates to when I eat… within the next hour I would feel as though the blood was draining from my head to digest my food and the not quite there dizzy feeling arrives
I… feel centrally warm light headed and as though lying down might be a good idea … Clopidigrel really helped also seemed to help my hypertension which had been difficult to control with medication for years but since clopidogrel very well controlled..
This is all just my observation as medics seem unmoved by my various conclusions ..
I still though have this rather hungover feeling all the time I have been on Hydroxyurea .. after starting they upped the dose and that feeling as well as utter exhaustion got worse . I have persuaded doctor to reduce my dose twice now and 2 days have none at all and the difference is clear ! Literally to me .
Not helpful I know but realising others have similar… is helpful .L
