Hi guys, does anyone know if gallstones are more common or significant in anyway when you have and mpn?
I’ve heard they are rare before 40 but I’ve had one since I was 38 which needs to be removed.
Thanks in advance for any replies

I have never heard of any direct connection between MPNs and gallstones. There could perhaps be an indirect link to cholecystitis in that inflammation is an intrinsic part of both conditions.

Funny you mention this. I was recently diagnosed with ET jak2+ in January this year but looking back on blood history they reckon my platelets have been rising since 2019. 2019 was the year I had my gallbladder removed as it was full of gallstones. Interesting theory.
