I’ve decided the occasional. Stronger smell must be food related . It’s so infrequent can’t be meds ….

The pattern of a symptom does matter. It may well be related to foods that change urine odor like garlic, onion, asparagus, Brussel sprouts and curry. I would still check the kidney function numbers just as a precaution though.

All the best.

Thanks for thoughts . I'll ask in Oct. Better safe than sorry..

Oh seems my GP DOES record conversations. But for some reason when they sent it me it doesn't work.. they are supposed to be an alternative way of getting it..

I am surprised to hear that your conversations are recorded without your being notified in advance. That is illegal in the USA and most other places.

There is likely a formatting issue with the recording they sent. I still doubt you will learn anything other than you were appropriate. The provider was unprofessional.

Hope you move forward with getting the issue addressed to your satisfaction.

Recording conversations without asking for permission is also illegal in all of Europe! It violates personal rights to privacy. Are you in England Mostew?

when I have a smelly pee, I know immediately if it’s from the food. When there are chemicals or illness in the body, it smells different. Stronger. I usually do a week of 150ml pure cranberry juice daily for a week and I make sure I drink 3 to 4 L of water each day. That usually cleans out the kidneys. From bacteria, etc..

I agree , nothing to learn , so I'm letting them get in touch at some point , or next time I speak to someone at GPs Wonder if there is something written somewhere when you join practice to say they are recording... or should they ask every time like business s ..

Better 'fights' to 'fight'...........

Every medical provider or company I interact with always lets you when they are recording. I do not think a consent signed in the past is considered to be an adequate notification. It certainly should not be.

Asparagus is notorious for making urine smell odd if you have a specific gene. Nothing to do with MPN genetics!

Oddly enough, I love asparagus and it has no noticeable impact on urine smell. Like most thins we discuss, we are all different.
