Has anyone with ET had dental inplants? I’d be grateful for any knowledge as I’m having treatment in a few weeks.

I’ve had one implant with PV, continued with 75mg aspirin throughout, no issues at all

Hi I have et Jak 2 positive many years ago I had a boil on jawline Dr thought it was was earwax so siringed my ears was in agony after it I showed my. Consultant a white bit on gum and told him how many courses off antibiotics had been on he referred me to hospital dental department they said it was infection not earwax and with him removing it infection got into mouth they had to remove the crown I had and replaced it for a month with a denture then fitted me with a bridge have never looked back but since COVID I seemed to have not been called back for my six monthly check was reassuring to know that dentist had bloods at the tap of a buttonStay safe

A horror! That should never happen! I have a fitted denture piece where I had a root canal removed and I need to remove the 2 root canals next to that one and one above all that. I was thinking of getting something implanted, but implants no matter how good they are and without metal, they still cause anaerobic bacteria to grow in the jaw bone a couple of years after the procedure. This causes long term inflammation. 😏

I've had dental implant work done. Absolutely no issues. Have ET and continued on asprin. Hope that helps. :)

Hi I’m 73 (ET JAK2) taking Hydroxy for over 20 years. Had 2 implants a year ago - all good. Very happy. Before hand Consulted my haematologist who advised stopping my meds 2 days before and 2 days after. She told me there’s a protocol. I’d advise you to check with yours. Hope this helps

I had 2 implants before diagnosis (after 1st stroke 17 years ago) and 3 implants last year. I asked the consultant when to stop meds and for how long because of clot/bleeding risk. Dentist thinks bone loss in my jaw is most likely due to the ET/bone marrow problem. It is wonderful not to have toothache or pain or gum problems and I can eat all the nuts and seeds now 🤣 I’m very happy with the outcome and will be having two more implants as my teeth cracked all the way through. Good luck with your treatment 🍀

Hi. I had a dental implant nearly 2 years ago. I have ET jak 2 and on hydroxy. I had absolutely no issues at all. However all details of my condition were made known to the technician beforehand. Wishing you all the best.
